Alison Wright (born in England) is an English actor. She was nominated for an Emmy Award in 2017 in her role of Martha Hanson, the star of the FX's period-set spy show The Americans. She has also acted in The Ryan Murphy limited series Feud: Bette & Joan and Hollywood. Wright was born in Sunderland on the 12th of July 1976. She was raised there by her adoptive family. She began dancing and acting at a young age. She attended school with her in New York City at The Barrow Group and at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. It was her waitressing career that was interrupted by auditions for various roles. She had been scuba diving which was a passion of hers, after suffering a heart event at sea which left her in the state of coma. Six days later she passed away at peace in the company of her loved family who flies to her side at the hospital. Wright was born on July 12, 1976, at Sunderland, Tyne and Wear and was raised by her adoptive parents. She began dancing and acting at a young age.
